‘Silk Road’ train carrying foreign tourists reached Isfahan, in central Iran, on Friday evening. Director General of Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization’s Isfahan office Shahram Amiri said on Saturday that 68 tourists from Canada, the UK, Australia, Denmark, Italy, Singapore, Peru and Malaysia, who are on a sightseeing trip to Iranian cities on a train named ‘Silk Road’, are expected to visit historical attractions of the city including Chehel Sotoun Palace, Naqshe Jahan Square as well as Si-o-se-pol (also known Allahverdi Khan Bridge).

The ‘Silk Road’ train arrived in Isfahan from Yazd — another Iranian historical city — where the tourists had visited Zoroastrian Fire Temple, Amir Chakhmaq Complex as well as Yazd Grand Mosque, IRNA reported.

The foreign tourists are expected to go on to Shiraz to visit the tourist attractions, followed by journeys to Kerman, Tehran, Kashan, Susa and Garmeh.

In the past three years, a large number of foreign tourists have taken trips to Isfahan on 15 special trains.

Amiri concluded that the ‘Silk Road’ train, which entered Iran on April 3, will leave the country on April 20. / Iran daily  /
