The second gathering of Afghan refugees called ‘Dasht-e-Gol-e-Sorkh’ (literally ‘Red Roses Field’) will be held on April 21 at Khavaran Cultural Center in south Tehran.

Afghans living in Iran will gather on the day to sing the song “Let’s go to Mazar-i-Sharif and celebrate the New Year,” Alef News Agency reported.

People in that country celebrate Nouruz or New Year in Mazar-i-Sharif (the third largest city in Afghanistan) because it is the epicenter of festivities in the country.

Visitors from Tajikistan, India, Pakistan, and Syria also take part in the Afghan festival where the pavilions present an excellent opportunity to get familiar with the rituals, traditions and culture of Iran’s neighboring country.

Afghan traditional music, handicrafts, and apparel will also be introduced at the festival.
